Weather
Summer in Turku is usually warm and bright. The daytime temperature in July-August is usually between +15 and +25 °C and in July the weather is mostly sunny. However, some rain may occur, as well as chilly wind in the evening, so take warm clothing and an umbrella along with you. It is light for most of the night for several weeks during the summer time.

Official languages in Finland are Finnish and Swedish; however, you may expect that most of people (particularly young people) have basic knowledge of English. You should not get any problems with communicating in English.

Money and banking
The Finnish currency unit is the Euro, divided into 100 cents (the smallest coin is 5 cents)
You can exchange foreign currency and traveller's cheques either in banks or in Forex (currency exchange company). Banks are open from 10.00 to 16.30 on weekdays and closed on Saturdays and Sundays. There are numerous cash machines (ATMs) open around the clock and accepting all major credit cards. Major credit cards, in particular Visa, Eurocard and Mastercard are widely accepted almost everywhere (in hotels, restaurants, shops, taxis, cafeterias, bars, etc.).
