Satellite Workshops

Satellite workshops will be conducted on Saturday, July 22nd. You are invited to arrive early and attend one or more of these workshops. Note that there is no charge and no pre-registration required to attend the satellite workshops.

All Satellite Workshop will be held in Kane Hall.

ANNUAL VETERINARY HERPESVIRUS SATELLITE WORKSHOP      NEW TIMES -- 12:00 noon to 5:30pm

The Veterinary Herpesvirus Satellite Workshop provides an opportunity to focus on our field in a way that is not possible during the general meeting. The time of the meeting is expanded to a full day, which will allow for more persons to present their research. If you submit an abstract to IHW 2006 that involves research on veterinary herpesviruses and would like to participate in the satellite workshop, please also send your abstract via e-mail to the organizer (the address as below). The deadline for submitting an abstract will be May 15th. The standard abstract format for this year main meeting can be used. When all the abstracts are collected we will make the agenda for the meeting and distribute it by e-mail.

IHW Workshop organizers will provide the meeting space, A/V equipment and afternoon coffee break at no charge.

Looking forward to seeing you in Seattle and kind regards.

HSV Workshop   NEW!    8:00am - 12:00noon
The first annual HSV Satellite Workshop will take place next July at IHW 2006 in Seattle. The workshop will focus on the broad spectrum of HSV research topics currently covered in the general meeting. The workshop is designed to provide an opportunity for more HSV investigators to present results to their colleagues orally in an informal setting and to facilitate more in depth interactions among investigators working with HSV. The three-hour workshop is scheduled to avoid conflict with the VZV Satellite Workshop. If you submit an abstract to IHW 2006 that involves research on HSV and would like to participate in the HSV Satellite Workshop, please also send the abstract via e-mail to one of the organizers listed below. If you are informed that your abstract has been accepted for oral presentation at the main meeting, please let us know immediately. We will accommodate as many speakers as possible, and we will give priority to those who will not have the opportunity to present at the main meeting. However, we will not exclude abstracts from groups that have an abstract selected for the main meeting. We plan to distribute a provisional agenda by e-mail by mid-June. If your submitted abstract is selected for presentation at the satellite meeting, but you would prefer to present one of your other abstracts or an intriguing preliminary finding, please send us the alternative abstract immediately so that we can finalize the agenda by the end of June.

Sincerely,

Vaccine Workshop    12:00noon - 2:00pm

We are organizing a Herpes Vaccine Satellite Workshop at the International Herpesvirus Workshop to provide more opportunity for presentations and discussions about herpesvirus vaccines than is possible during the main meeting. We welcome abstracts on vaccine design, testing in animals, human immunology, and vaccine trials, and we welcome participants and attendees from academic, corporate, and governmental organizations. If you submit an abstract to IHW 2006 that involves these areas and would like to present in the satellite workshop, please also send your abstract via e-mail to one of the organizers listed below. We also welcome abstracts that are not submitted to the main IHW meeting. In addition, as you learn whether your abstracts have been accepted for oral presentation at the main meeting, please let us know as soon as possible. We will accommodate as many speakers as possible, but will schedule those who won't have the opportunity to present at the main meeting on a priority basis. We hope to have the agenda complete and distributed by email no later than mid-June. If you are selected to present your submitted abstract but have a more intriguing nascent piece of work (a hot topic) that you prefer to present at the satellite, please be certain that you get the alternative abstract submitted to us as early as possible, preferably within a week after the tentative agenda is announced.

Sincerely,

The Organizers:

VZV Workshop    2:00pm - 6:00pm
The VZV Satellite Workshop focuses on VZV research issues and allows more personal interactions among these researchers beyond those that occur during the general meeting. This year we again plan to have a three hour meeting, which will make it possible for more researchers to present their data. If you submit an abstract to IHW 2006 that involves research on VZV and would like to participate in the satellite workshop, please also send your abstract via e-mail to one of the organizers listed below. In addition, as you learn whether your abstracts have been accepted for oral presentation at the main meeting, please let us know as soon as possible. We will accommodate as many speakers as possible, but will schedule those who won't have the opportunity to present at the main meeting on a priority basis. We hope to have the agenda complete and distributed by e-mail no later than mid-June. If you are selected to present your submitted abstract but have a more intriguing nascent piece of work (a hot topic or late breaker) that you prefer to present at the satellite meeting, please be certain that you get the alternative abstract submitted to us as early as possible, preferably within a week after the tentative agenda is announced.
