eXcursion options in missoula
On Monday 17, July IHW will offer several excursion options to take place after the last event of the day. This is a chance for participants to explore Missoula and see what the city has to offer. Reserve your spot for excursions during the registration process. All fees will be due at the time of registration. More information about individual excursions is listed below.

Option 1- White Water Rafting Trip
See the beautiful Alberton Gorge up close and personal on a guided white water rafting trip! This is a 12-mile whitewater run that will help you to cool off during a warm summer day. No skills are needed to go on this trip and it will be led by a highly skilled and trained guide. The trip departs from the University of Montana campus at approximately 1 pm and returns around 6 pm. This trip is capped at 60 people, so don't wait to make your reservation! This excursion is $65 per person due at the time of registration.
Option 2- Relaxing River Float
Relax and take a float down the Clark Fork River. This float will allow you to cool off in the water, without the adrenaline of white water rafting. Tubes will be provided by University of Montana Outdoor Program. Transportation to the top of the river run will be provided, the run ends conveniently next to campus and near downtown Missoula.
This excursion is $25 per person due at the time of registration.
Option 3- Taste of Missoula Food Tour
See the best of what Missoula has to offer. This tour makes stops at 4-5 local restaurants in downtown Missoula. One small bite and one craft cocktail, wine, or beer is included at each stop with an emphasis on local ingredients. This is a walking tour adding up to approximately 1 mile of walking over the course of approximately 3 hours. This trip is capped at 24 participants, so don't wait to reserve your spot. This excursion is $120 per person due at the time of registration.
Option 4- Hiking around Missoula
Explore Missoula through the great outdoors! Missoula boasts several hiking options for those of all skill and fitness levels. There will be a variety of hike options and more information will be provided. This excursion has no cost associated. We are asking those interested to please still indicate that upon registering in order to create hiking groups depending on the desired trail.
Option 5- Downtown Exploration
This is a self-guided exploration of all downtown Missoula has to offer. Pamphlets will be provided to participants courtesy of Destination Missoula to offer more information and recommended stops throughout downtown. This excursion has no cost associated. We are asking those interested to still select this option during registration.
