Capilano Suspension Bridge Tour

Follow in the footsteps of the millions of visitors who have crossed Capilano Suspension Bridge since 1889. Voices from Vancouver’s past mingle with the sounds of nature, beautiful gardens skirt time-worn British Columbia First Nations totem poles and Capilano Suspension Bridge takes you to the serenity of a West Coast rainforest. The Bridge crosses to towering evergreens, cedar-scented rainforest air and the Treetops Adventure, consisting of 7 suspended footbridges offering views 110 feet above the forest floor.

The new Cliffwalk juts out from the granite cliff face above Capilano River taking guests to previously unexplored areas of the park on a series of unobtrusive cantilevered and suspended walkways. Not for the faint of heart, it is high and narrow and, in some sections, (very strong) glass is all that separates guests from the canyon far below.

Time: Bus will depart at 14:00 from UBC and will return around 19:00. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes each way.

Cost: $65 USD per person

Includes: Transportation to and from the park, “I Survived” souvenir certificate, park map, guided park history tour led by turn-of-the-century costumed guides (approximately 20 minutes), 30-minute nature tour, plus time to explore the park on your own!

What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, clothes that can get dirty or wet, based on weather; a raincoat or sunscreen and sunglasses, something to drink, camera.

Adventure Seeking at Grouse Mountain

Adrenaline-junkie? Then this is the excursion for you! Let Grouse Mountain take your breath away while you zipline down the mountain for this unforgettable adventure. After your zipline adventure, go even higher with a visit to the Eye of the Wind viewPOD, which is the world’s only wind turbine that allows you to stand in a clear glass viewPOD at the top of the tower, three metres from its massive, rotating blades. Stand in awe of 360-degree views as you come face to face with the future of responsible energy.

Once you’ve returned your feet to the ground, enjoy the summer shows available, such as the Ranger Talks with the famous Grizzly Bears Grinder and Coola, world-famous Lumberjack show, and Birds in Motion Demonstration before heading back to campus.
